Sgt. Jason T. Palmerton 25 1st Battalion, 3rd Special Forces Group Auburn, Nebraska Killed when he came under enemy small-arms fire during a dismounted patrol in Qal'eh-Ye Gaz, Afghanistan, on July 23, 2005
Petty Officer 2nd Class Matthew G. Axelson 29 SEAL Delivery Vehicle Team One, Naval Special Warfare Group Three Cupertino, California Axelson was part of a four-man SEAL reconnaissance team that called for help during a firefight with Taliban fighters in Kunar Province, Afghanistan, on June 28, 2005. His remains were found during a combat search and rescue operation on July 10, 2005. Two other team members were killed but a third survived.

Dietz 25 SEAL Delivery Vehicle Team Two, Naval Special Warfare Group Four Littleton, Colorado Dietz was part of a four-man SEAL reconnaissance team that called for help during a firefight with Taliban fighters in Kunar Province, Afghanistan, on June 28, 2005. His remains were found during a combat search and rescue operation on July 4, 2005. Two other team members were killed but a third survived.

Medal of Honor presented posthumously, October 22, 2007.
